Below are answers to some of the questions we get asked most often:
Can you tell me a little more about Gold Palm Beach and who runs the company?
Gold Palm Beach is a subsidiary of A & E Jewelers, a jewelry store based in Palm Beach County, Florida. Adam Binder is the founder and CEO of the company and has grown up in the industry as a third generation jeweler with over 15 years of experience. Adam is an expert appraiser, gemologist, precious metals buyer and numismatist.
Adam along with a team of experienced employees have built Gold Palm Beach into an industry leader and the best choice for your next gold party.
I've heard of other gold buying services. Why is Gold Palm Beach a better choice?
1. You will be paid more money for your gold!
You see it every day, a gold buyer taking out expensive advertisements on TV to promote their gold buying event at a huge hotel. You may also see a local jewelry store advertising in the paper or on TV that they buy gold. Maybe you have heard about the companies asking you to mail them your gold. Guess what? These practices are very expensive. All of these companies create huge overhead; by running these ads and promotions.
At Gold Palm Beach, we specialize in gold parties. Our business is predominantly generated by word of mouth thereby making our overhead much smaller than our competitors. This means we are able to pay you more for your gold and jewelry!
When you go to a Gold Palm Beach party you can be assured you are going to receive the best price possible. On the rare occasion you get offered a higher price by the competition we will happily match it.
2. It's a party - not a hotel
A big part of selling your gold at a Gold Palm Beach event is that it is a party. You get to meet the jeweler face to face. You get to spend the evening with your friends while enjoying the thrill of making money in the comfort of the host’s home or local party venue.
3. Experience
With over three generations of experience working in the jewelry industry and buying gold, we pride ourselves on our knowledge of jewelry and gold buying.
4. Security and Licensure
When you sell your gold to Gold Palm Beach, you may rest assured you are working with a professional company operating in accordance with all local, state and federal laws.
Gold Palm Beach is licensed by the State of Florida under the Precious Metals Act of 1981. Adherence to gold buying laws requires us to ask for picture IDs and to forward specific records to the authorities for your safety. This level of professionalism is one that gold sellers should expect and one that Gold Palm Beach is proud to offer.
5. Honesty
Trust Gold Palm Beach to treat you with honesty and compassion.
Each day, we meet customers with extra-special items that they are considering selling to us. These heirloom items are worth far more than the value shown on the scale. Out of respect, we will speak with you to possibly reconsider selling your most precious items. We are not interested in making a “quick buck” and want what is best for our customers. It is what we would expect if we went to sell our gold and what we demand for our valued customers.
How, specifically, do I get money by hosting a Gold Palm Beach event?
There are three ways! First, you can sell any gold, silver or platinum jewelry items you may own.
Next, by hosting a Gold Palm Beach party, you receive a 10% commission based on the total amount of money we spend on the jewelry we purchase, even if you do not sell jewelry of your own. For example: If we purchase $9,000 in unwanted items, you will receive $900.
Finally, you will receive an additional $50 from Gold Palm Beach for any parties which are hosted by guests from your party!
I would like to host a party! Where do I start?
Setting up your Gold Palm Beach event couldn't be easier!
Fill out the request a party form on our website, e-mail us at info@goldpalmbeach.com or call 1.888.721.4367.
How can I find out how much my items may be worth?
Gold Palm Beach purchases are based on the spot prices of gold, silver and platinum listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Click here to view the spot price of all precious metals, in real time. The price you receive is based on the total percentage of gold, silver or platinum in your jewelry. All weights are by the penny weight, based on one Troy ounce.
Is this legal?
Our parties are absolutely 100% safe and legal. We take legal precautions by your guests to fill out a legal document when they sell their jewelry
Gold Palm Beach is a licensed, bonded and insured subsidiary of A & E Jewelers. Some state and local statutes require written verification or copies of transaction receipts, and it is our obligation to provide that information when requested.
Why don’t you pay in cash?
Safety is our number one priority and we believe it is unsafe for our jeweler and guests of the party to have a large sum of cash at any event. Additionally many states require there be proper documentation on secondary jewelry sales. For these reasons, we pay by check due to safety and legal concerns. Our checks are secured by a large line of credit.
Be very careful of any company paying by cash: they probably are not licensed and may not be giving you fair value for your jewelry!
Who should I invite to my Gold Palm Beach event?
It is a good idea to start with your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers. Parties typically range from 5-50 guests. Please understand that the number of guests who attend your event is important but not nearly as important as the quantity and types of gold, silver or platinum jewelry your guests bring to sell.
What if some people can't attend my Gold Palm Beach event?
To your guests who cannot make it to your event, Gold Palm Beach will offer the same excellent service and pay the same top dollar prices as we will to the guests in attendance. Please ask for a photocopy of their driver's license or state issued ID card, full legal name, mailing address, contact phone number, and e-mail address. We will appraise their items and contact them directly with our offer. If they accept, we will issue them a check and you still receive the same commission as if they were at the party.
I have some old, broken jewelry I would like to sell but I don't want to have a Gold Party. Can Gold Palm Beach still help me?
Of course! Please contact us and we will make arrangements to evaluate your jewelry.
What other items will Gold Palm Beach buy aside from gold, silver and platinum jewelry?
Gold Palm Beach will buy scrap gold, coins and coin collections, gold teeth, silver flatware, fine Swiss timepieces and diamonds. You and your guests are encouraged to bring items even if you are unsure of their value. With respect to diamonds, please bring any certification paperwork or receipts from the original purchase. This is not mandatory, but it will help insure an accurate appraisal and a speedy transaction.
I'm not sure if some of my jewelry is real gold. Can I test it myself?
Here is a quick way to test your gold: Take a household magnet and run it over your jewelry. Though gold is heavy, it contains no magnetic properties. If your jewelry is attracted to the magnet, then there is no gold, silver or platinum present. Remember, Gold Palm Beach is happy to test and appraise your jewelry for you. Bring any item with you to the event even if you are unsure of their value.
How long does an average Gold Palm Beach event last?
You should plan on Gold Palm Beach being at your event for two to three hours. The time all depends on the number of people at the party. During that time, we will privately work with each guest to appraise their jewelry items.
Who is A&E Jewelers?
Gold Palm Beach does not operate a traditional jewelry store. A & E Jewelers is an exclusive jewelry company that can meet all of your needs and is the parent company of Gold Palm Beach.
